Adam Bubolz is a Minneapolis-based photographer working in live music and street photography. For over two decades, he has documented performance with a focus on motion, shadow, and the atmosphere between artist and crowd.
His work is rooted in capturing the immediacy of a show—leaning into stage light, proximity, and the energy that exists between performer and audience. Influenced by documentary and street traditions, his photography favors contrast, texture, and available light.
His work has appeared in publications including Vice, SPIN, and City Pages, and he is a contributor to Reviler, where he documents and writes about the Minneapolis music scene.
Much of his recent travel work is created with compact cameras, embracing immediacy and proximity.
